When our wonderful Friends & Parents of Walthamstow Hall give their generous support, they can glow with satisfaction at how well their gifts are used right across the School.
FPWH have recently helped us in the purchase of two new trampolines and a new timing system for our swimming pool.
Last week we hosted more than 300 students from 16 prep schools in IAPS Swimming. Our new timing pads enabled us record places accurately – to within 0.02 of a second – in this important event in the national school swimming calendar.
The system will be used for all of our galas, including the Junior School Interhouse Swimming Competition next term.
Our two new trampolines are being used regularly in curriculum time by Years 9, 10 and 11 and in co-curricular time by Junior School pupils in their Tuesday after school club, and Senior School students in their two weekly lunchtime clubs.
These lunchtime sessions have led to our first entry in the Kent School’s Trampoline Competition. Giulia in Year 11 came first in her category last week and will progress onto the County Finals.
Three PE GCSE students have also been training on the trampolines and are using this activity as one of their three practical assessments required by the syllabus.
A very big thank you to FPWH for the support you give to our whole School.
