We have a special guest joining our virtual assembly/Prayers today. The Mayor of Sevenoaks, Councillor Nick Busvine has recorded a short film for us reflecting on what lock down has meant for our local community and the extra chance that it gives us all to take notice of what surrounds us.
The Mayor recorded his message from his garden and has subsequently let us know about a Sevenoaks Town Council gardening initiative to brighten up Sevenoaks as soon as lock down ends. The idea is very simply that children take a bee or butterfly friendly or edible plant that they have grown along to The Vine on a day to be decided once restrictions are lifted. If you have any spare seeds at home, or even half of an old a tomato, do plant them in a flower/old yoghurt pot and see if they are ready to brighten up the town when the time comes. https://www.sevenoakstown.gov.uk/_VirDir/CoreContents/News/Display.aspx?id=28172
ABRSM Music Awards will also be ‘given out’ at today’s assembly. We love the idea of everyone tuning in to Firefly at our usual assembly time of 2.00pm and singing the hymn simultaneously in their kitchens, bedrooms, gardens etc. We hope you can ‘join us’ at 2.00pm otherwise the assembly link is available on Firefly for you to tune in to at any time today.
