The Junior School were pleased to receive a letter from the charity Kidshelp last week, thanking the School for raising £954 from their Book Swap held as part of World Book Day in March. Pupils donated books which they had enjoyed and then purchased a different book to read. All of the money raised was donated to Kidshelp, a charity in Cambodia which has a focus on helping families through education and in particular building schools. In their letter of thanks, Kidshelp wrote, “The funds have been used entirely towards costs of securing the boundaries and raising the level of a new school site which we purchased during 2019. The new school will be located in a countryside village 40km north of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.” Thank you to everyone who took part in the swap and raising funds to give children in another part of the world access to books.
