Sixteen Year 11 students have been getting a taste of the workplace this week by participating in the ‘Classroom to Boardroom’ programme run by Entrepreneurs in Action.
The students are working on a real world brief, for the Samaritans charity. The group were briefed by the Sevenoaks branch of Samaritans on Monday and set the challenge of raising awareness of this new branch for recruiting volunteers and fundraising. Supported by entrepreneur and business coach David Okoro the students have been working up their business proposal all week and will make a presentation to representatives from 18 Samaritans’ branches from across the UK (from Edinburgh to Yeovil) tomorrow.
Classroom to Boardroom is a fantastic programme which introduces and test students’ skills in a workplace environment, albeit a virtual one this year.
We look forward to seeing the students’ proposals tomorrow.
