Year 7 had a great day of bonding and outdoor learning on Tuesday; walking through Knole Park to reach the beautiful Romshed Farm in Underriver.
Duke of Edinburgh Manager Mr Ramsden was on hand to help the students with their map reading and orienteering skills.
Once there, owner Verity Weston talked to them about farming as a career and the sustainable, organic farming that is practised at Romshed. The beef and lamb produced there is organic and 100% pasture-fed and increasing biodiversity on the land is a key aim.
Students saw the Hereford Cattle and met the farm dogs Mungo and Sam. They learnt about the importance of soil and dissected cow pats looking for bugs!
Year 9 get to experience all this on Friday.
