Year 5 enjoyed some live Greek Theatre this week when Hobgoblin Theatre Company performed the myth of Perseus and Medusa, breathing life into the characters the girls are studying in class.
After enjoying and commenting on the performance, girls then got stuck into a Physical Theatre workshop, creating frozen pictures of mythical beasts and Olympic contests.
Pupils learned more about Chorus and Response, storytelling and ensemble movement and thought carefully about how to use the large movements, masks, team work and rhythmic repetition that defined Greek Theatre.
They are looking forward to using these techniques when they write, choreograph, and perform their own Greek myth later in the term.
