Back in July, a group of Year 11s (now in Year12) spent a week working on a real business brief as part of the ‘Classroom to Boardroom’ project.
The students were briefed by the Sevenoaks branch of the Samaritans charity to build awareness and create new fundraising opportunities. Working remotely and assisted by a business coach the students built a virtual company and developed a plan which they presented to a large audience from the Samaritan’s Head Office and branches all over the country. The presentation won very high praise and the ideas presented will be put into action in the local area and further afield.
Walthamstow Hall’s Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Becky Brown, was interviewed last month, along with the Sevenoaks Samaritans representatives, as part of the Recover2gether podcast which highlights the challenges that members of the voluntary and business sectors in the Sevenoaks District are experiencing.
