We are delighted that the whole Senior School community is learning sign language this term.
Pupils will take part in six online lessons from “Sign Source“, within our Friday prayers slot, with further resources available to extend the learning at home.
An important element of the course is the ‘deaf awareness’ module, which educates participants about the deaf community with interesting facts and figures.
A basic awareness of sign language is an excellent skill and a good step towards making society more inclusive. We will also enjoy the challenge of learning to communicate away from the spoken word, on top of the intellectual benefits of learning another language.
