They demonstrated a level of stagecraft “beyond their years” was the verdict of the examiner who watched Year 5 and 6 pupils perform their Trinity Drama pieces in The Ship last week.
For the Grade 1 exam, the Year 5s performed two short plays in their groups, while the Year 6s introduced and performed duologues followed by a discussion about their play.
Examiner Tony Bell is a professional actor with years of experience in the West End and the RSC. He told Trinity Drama teacher Miss Oakley how impressed he was with the young actors: the challenging level of all the pieces chosen, the use of complex stage direction and the pupils’ physical theatre skills all amounted to a very high standard of performance.
Congratulations to our young actors.
