We have received some wild news at the Junior School over the Summer Holidays! The Kent Wildlife Trust have been in touch to let us know that the School has received a commendation in its Wilder Kent Awards.
The Commendation is in recognition of the work that the School is doing to help create a ‘Wilder Kent’, this includes;
- The Forest School sessions run throughout the year for pupils from Early Years up to Year 3
- Planting hedging around the Forest School area to create both a boundary and new habitat
- Competitions, including one to grow the School’s tallest sunflower
- Planting new plants, like strawberries, in the School grounds
- Building the bug hotel pictured here
- All pupils and teachers using re-useable water bottles
Congratulations to all of the pupils and staff involved in these wild initiatives, especially our dedicated Forest School team.
