The blast of energy that is the House Music competition made a triumphant return after a year’s absence, on the last day before Half Term.
It was all new for Year 7 and Year 8. Every student (and a large number of staff!) whether they love performing or feel slightly more reserved about making a spectacle of themselves, got swept along in the fun and excitement of the friendly competition.
House Captains did a sterling job of inspiring and rehearsing their teams into two performances: one involving the whole House and the other deploying a smaller ensemble, choosing songs from a female artiste and a decade. Extra points are always given to Houses that accompany their songs with proper bands demonstrating further musical flair.
The guest judge, sitting alongside Miss Ferro and Music Coach Miss Leather, was 2018 leaver India-Rose Slack, who attended the Guildford School of Acting and now works in the theatre.
Congratulations to the winners of the following awards. Best programme to be announced in assembly on Friday.

Big thanks to the Music Department and technical crew who facilitated each House delivering a polished performance. Lighting the overhead gantry in the House colours was a nice touch!
