To enrich their learning about the Great Fire of London, 17th century diarist Samuel Pepys (aka Lidmann from “Make The Classroom Disappear“) paid a visit to Year 2. He demonstrated how the fire spread – urging pupils to put it out, but unfortunately they couldn’t! Afterwards, they explored artefacts, including a mysterious new drink called ‘coffee’.
Lidmann then transformed himself into Agrippa the Roman, for Year 3. He put pupils to work building a villa, complete with heated floor and an aqueduct to transport the water. Lidmann then demonstrated how to make an archway. Laying the mosaic floor required teamwork and a good understanding of Roman numerals, but luckily Year 3 were up to the task.
