We are delighted to share news of our students who are competing in sports at a national level across a range of disciplines. It is impossible to keep up with everything our students achieve outside School, but national events deserve attention – especially when students are juggling these with A Levels.
So hats off to Nina in Year 13 who was made Captain for the England Lacrosse Junior A team in the Home International series in Edinburgh this month. Nina, pictured above high-fiving her team mates, also played for England against Italy.
Four of our students are in the U14 CFX netball team which has fought its way to the National Finals, comprising the top 18 clubs in the country. Isabelle and Emma in Year 9 and Sophie and Anna in Year 8 helped their team fight for a place at county and regional levels, to reach the finals in Newcastle next month.
In the pool, four students qualified for the British Championships over Easter: Lilie and Millie in Year 13, Imogen in Year 12 and Imogen in Year 7. Qualifier numbers have been tightened so only Y12 Imogen and Lilie actually competed, in the 50m breaststroke and 50m and 100m freestyle respectively – the pinnacle of their swimming achievements so far.
Stop Press: Congratulations to Imogen in Y7, pictured above, for winning the 50m breaststroke at the SE Regional Championships at the weekend, .
