The Senior School’s charitable efforts kick off next Monday when students will vote – with a £1 coin – on which international charity they would like the School to support this year.

The shortlist of charities to choose from will come from the students themselves. In our first assembly, Director of Sport and Charities Coordinator Miss Leggett explained how the Wally community is about helping each other and looking beyond ourselves to people in need locally, nationally and also across the world.

House Captains stood up to explain which local charity their House will support this year. House efforts will be directed towards: West Kent Mind, Rockdale, Hospice in the Weald, The Hygiene Bank, Sevenoaks Larder and Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees.

Forthcoming fundraising events at the Senior School this half term include: Genes for Jeans, MacMillan Cancer Support, Wally Stage & Screen and the harvest collection for Sevenoaks Larder.

Many students support charities in their own time. Good luck to Alice in Year 10, who will be taking part in the Solent Swim, from Gosport to the Isle of Wight this month, in support of Aspire, the charity which helps people with spinal cord injuries.
