We have a fantastic set of results for our students who took the Extended Project Qualification. 70% of them received an A*-A mark, with 100% receiving A-Bs.
EPQ is a project carried out by students in Year 12 which is designed to develop their abilities beyond A Level. Students choose their subject and can present their independent work in a variety of ways, leading to a qualification recognised by universities and employers.
The feedback from the Moderation reads: “All candidates included appropriate and useful elements to their projects… students at your centre are clearly benefitting from the skill development and independent research that your delivery of this qualification is enabling.”
The topics this year included: Why are the majority of the world’s poor women?, Are genetics the key to becoming an elite athlete?, What is the best method to control the progression of HIV?
Our EPQ Coordinator and history teacher Mrs Thomas meets the students regularly to guide them in their research. Mrs Thomas said she was delighted with the progress her students had made and their well-deserved results.
