Imogen in Year 8 has become the undisputed queen of breaststroke in Kent. On consecutive weekends at the London Aquatic Centre, Imogen comfortably won gold medals in the 50m, 100m and 200m 14u breaststroke in the Kent County Championships. Her times were faster than everyone else’s in all other age categories, making her the Junior and Open Champion for all three distances, aged only 13!

Imogen won the 200m gold in her 14u age group the weekend before last and was awarded the trophy for the fastest time in the Junior Girls 16u category. Her time of 2.37 was also the fastest 200m of the day, so she was awarded the Open Ladies trophy for 17/over. It also set a new county record.

On Saturday just gone, Imogen achieved new PBs in the 50m and 100m breaststroke heats, knocking three seconds off her time in the 100m.

In the finals she won back to back golds in the 14u age group and was awarded trophies for being the fastest female breaststroker in Kent across the Junior 15u and Open 16/over categories.

The Sevenoaks Swimming Club has hailed her “fantastic achievement” and our Head Swimming Coach Mr Smith said “what Imogen achieved was very special.”  We hope there’s enough shelf space in the Myles household for all her silver!
