Five of our Junior School swimmers represented Walthamstow Hall at a national level at the London Aquatics Centre at the weekend. Isabelle, Sophie, Sophia, Chloe and Coco competed in the Medley and Freestyle Relay U10 events at the IAPS National Swimming Finals.
They swam outstandingly to finish in fourth place in both relays – missing out on medals by just hundredths of seconds.
In the individual events, Chloe represented the School in the U10 25m Butterfly and Isabelle in the U10 25m Backstroke. Both swimmers posted very fast times in the heats with Isabelle making it through to the Backstroke Final. Isabelle gave another superb performance to finish third overall and win the bronze medal.
This is the first time Walthamstow Hall has won a medal at the IAPS Championships.
Our Head Swimming Coach Mr Smith congratulated all the swimmers: “Everyone who represented Walthamstow Hall competed exceptionally well amongst many of the best competitors from around the country, it was a truly fantastic effort.”
