We were delighted to welcome so many alumnae to our Summer Reunion at the weekend, thank you to everyone for coming and for making it our biggest event in recent years.
The event rounded off a busy first week for our new Headmistress, Ms Chamberlain who met our youngest pupils on Day 1 and chatted to Joy Pennells on Saturday; Joy left Walthamstow Hall in 1943.
Pupils from every decade since then assembled in the Hub, joined by former Headmistresses Mrs Lang and Mrs Milner and other teachers past and present for a big catch up.
Thank you to Head Librarian Mrs White and Librarian Mrs Bretz for the photos and displays in the Hall, to Mrs Kirkpatrick and our Catering Team for the delicious tea and to Director of Marketing and Alumnae Ms Pelling for masterminding such an enjoyable day.
1950 Leaver Frances Clemmow emailed Ms Pelling a charming thank you note afterwards and we hope she doesn’t mind us sharing this snippet with you:
“As I sat on a bench on the front lawn […], I watched as people gradually and quietly ebbed away and I couldn’t help feeling as though the old building, this day particularly, was conscious of the hundreds of girls to whom she has meant so much. To many of us she has been a much-loved welcoming home as well as an inspiring school.”
