On top of any sporting success our students achieve representing the School, we also like to celebrate the achievements of our top athletes outside School. Here is a roundup of recent notable fixtures.

Sailing

After a summer competing in her 29er dinghy at National, European and World Championship level, Laura in Year 12 was selected for the Royal Yachting Association Youth Performance Squad for this winter. This is the highest squad in Great Britain for Youth (U19) Sailing, meaning Laura, with her crew Jess, are one of the top four British female teams in the 29er. They are looking forward to travelling to Spain in the February half term to train and compete in some slightly warmer conditions.

Swimming

Imogen in Year 9 excelled at the Swim England Winter Regionals event in Winchester over Half Term. This is an Open age group competition where all the swimmers have to meet tough entry times regardless of their age. Imogen qualified to race in all three of the Ladies Breaststroke events. In the 50m 16u category she won Silver, coming 4th overall.  In the 100m she won Gold in the 16u and won Silver overall. In the 200m she won silver in both the 16u and Open events. As a result of all this, Imogen has been selected by Swim England South East to attend the Euro Meet in Luxembourg in January, along with 11 other female athletes from the region.
