Junior School Christmas Gallery
Following Wally tradition, Reception dressed up as elves to meet Father Christmas at the start of the Walthamstow Hall Friends & Parents Christmas Fair last week. Great excitement as Santa rang the bell to open proceedings and then the children followed Santa into his grotto for some well-informed chat and presents.
The Fair was packed with stalls, both student-run and external. The level of expertise shown on the Festive Bake Off competition was wonderful, congratulations to all the entrants and Star Bakers ranging from Early Years through to Senior School and adults.
Earlier in the week children from Nursery to Year 2 performed The Big Little Nativity to their families in the Hall. The girls spoke clearly and sang their lively songs with gusto so everyone could hear. Mr Giles on the piano encouraged everyone to give their best and the two performances were lovely to watch.
Year 6 pupils had been busy making Christmas crackers and this week they visited Rockdale and Lavender Fields to give them to the elderly residents there.
The Y6 Gaudete group sang carols – with actions – at Kippington Nursing Home where some of the audience were a little overwhelmed!
Junior School families gathered at St John’s Church for the Christmas Carol Service. Every year group played their part to convey the Christmas message in this beautiful high Anglican setting.
