Two National Silver Medals for our Junior School swimming relay team!

Huge congratulations to Isabelle, Elicia, Sophie and Chloe for their thrilling efforts at the ESSA National Swimming Championships for Primary School Relays on Saturday. The girls travelled to Ponds Forge Sports Centre in Sheffield for the event. They had qualified through Kent County and SE Divisional Championships to face the top 24 school teams in England in both Medley and Freestyle Relays. In Sheffield, they made it through the heats to reach the A Finals in both events. The finals were fantastic races with extremely fast times from the top two teams, with Wally winning silver medals in both.

The winning team broke the English Schools Freestyle relay record, with Wally 0.8″ behind. The winners also had one Freestyle swimmer 2″ faster than anyone else. At the end of the video of the Freestyle final, our Head Swimming Coach Mr Smith can be heard saying “I couldn’t have asked them for more”!

Congratulations to all the swimmers and many thanks to Mrs Carr and Mrs Dymond for helping prepare the girls, to all the parents and Mr Moor who travelled with them and to Mrs Carr and Mr Smith for their support poolside on the day.

Well done team Wally, we are so proud of what you have achieved!
