The excellent Careers provision at Walthamstow Hall has passed its recent assessment with flying colours. We achieved the highest award for the Quality in Careers Standard, fully meeting the accreditation criteria.
Assessors conducted thorough research, interviewing students across the Senior School, teaching staff, Governors, the Headmistress, the Careers Leader and the Head of Sixth Form.
Their report concludes that we provide “a committed and rigorous approach to development, achievement and preparation for adult life. As a result, careers work is recognised as an essential foundation which underpins all other aspects of school life.”
They noted our “strong local business and community links” which combined with our growing pool of alumnae contacts have “contributed to a rich careers programme“.
Our Careers Leader, Mrs Hayes was singled out for her “notable…energy and expertise” and the enthusiasm and commitment of our teaching staff was seen to help “sustain an integrated approach in the curriculum and super curricular offer.”
The Quality in Careers Standard is the national award that recognises good careers education, information, advice and guidance for young people. Assessments come round every three years, so our next will be in 2028.
