The weather might not have been at it’s best at the end of last week but Year 11 still gamely took part in a ‘Mindful Walk’ for their weekly PSHEE lesson.
Pupils got away from their screens and out into the fresh air making a note of what appealed to each of their senses. The sight of bluebells and falling blossom, sound of rain and birdsong, smell of bonfires and damp earth, taste of snacks and freshly baked cakes when they returned home and the feel of dogs brushing against legs and the damp ground were just some of the things they noticed.
Head of Key Stage 4, Mrs O’Donnell, said, ‘I was particularly impressed by the number of students who braved the rain and found beauty in it.”
