The Careers programme we offer has been recognised as progressive and tailored to each student as she moves through the School. The Quality in Careers Standard is the single national award for careers guidance – and we’ve completed the first round!

This acknowledges our focus on helping students prepare for challenging and fulfilling lives beyond school.

Students from Year 7-11 have careers lessons in PSHE and Tutor Time, they are encouraged to learn in the areas of:

  • Oneself – self-awareness, self-determination and self-improvement
  • Careers – knowledge of careers in the world of work
  • Skills – managing your own career and boosting your employability

Years 9-13 will also be taking part in a virtual careers evening, hearing from employers in a wide range of careers.

Sixth Formers have workshops and talks from visiting speakers. This term financial planners will talk about managing personal finances in Higher Education (eg Student Loans and developing a credit history). Other workshops past and planned are on apprenticeships, writing a CV and developing a professional profile on LinkedIn.

In the Junior School, “careers” takes the form of recognising skills and qualities that might help you in a broader way, using My Activity Passport, as a broad starting point.
