Students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 have been meeting in their year group bubbles at lunchtime and after school to read and discuss this year’s CILIP Carnegie Medal shortlist.
There were eight shortlisted titles which this year were particularly varied, leading to some excellent debates.
In the end, the official winner of the CILIP Carnegie Medal was “Look Both Ways” by Jason Reynolds, the Shadowers’ Choice Award, voted for by all schools involved, was “Run Rebel” by Manjeet Mann and our own Wally Hall winner was “Clap When You Land” by Elizabeth Acevedo.
