August got off to a speedy start for Year 12’s Sophie and Scarlett who ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon on the first of the month. The dynamic duo ran to raise money for Alice’s Arc, a charity with a special place in Walthamstow Hall’s heart.
Charity Founder, Sara Wakeling said, “They were both incredible, we cheered them on and it was so touching to watch.”
Together, Sophie and Scarlett raised £1,189. Ten runners ran for Alice’s Arc in all, raising an amazing £20,000 collectively.
Alice’s Arc is a children’s cancer charity which funds research into finding more targeted and less harsh treatments for rhabdomyosarcoma. The charity also gives support to chidlren and families impacted by the disease. It works in conjunction with the Institute of Cancer Research and Great Ormond Street Hospital to achieve this.
