Tiptoe into The Ship at lunchtime and you might hear the heavenly singing of nuns in the abbey. Today they were wondering how to solve a problem like Maria: “A flibbertigibbet! A will-o’-the wisp! A clown!”.
With less than two weeks to go until the opening night of The Sound of Music, every minute of rehearsal counts. Head of Drama Mrs Bower-Morris is making the cast raise their game.
There is so much to look forward to in this production – even aside from the music. Drama Technician James Mitchell has surpassed himself with the set: Swiss alps, mountain flowers, elegant palladian flooring and a wrought iron staircase balustrade.
Most of all it’s the thrill of the live performance that we are looking forward to. As Mrs Bower-Morris says, “this iconic musical has been chosen not just because it is one for all the family, but because it will surely bring back with it the sense of joy and community that we have missed”.
Book your tickets now for the performances from 22-27th November, via the booking form emailed home and included on the parent letter in My School Portal.
