Abby and Olivia in Year 11 have been talking about their roles as Peer Mentors for an article in our School magazine CODA.
The Peer Mentors help Year 7s to settle into Wally by spending time with them. They take weekly form times and organise fun activities but mainly just turn up to listen to, chat with and give advice to the younger students.
Abby says “Some of the more quiet Y7s like to hang out with you at lunchtimes, it’s always nice to know you have someone who is a friend.” Olivia adds: “Listening is a massive part of it, because they do just want to tell you everything that they’ve done in their day.”
