“This is it! You have so much to look forward to!” Head of Sixth Form Mrs Brown gave an encouraging welcome to Year 12s on their Induction Day. Among the familiarisation activities, students will be taking ALIS (Advanced Level Information System) tests to provide staff with academic data to help them guide students through their final two years of School.
The cohort start from a strong position; their GCSE results were impressive with 31% of all exams taken being awarded a grade 9. Assistant Head of Sixth Form Mr Pollen said it was a great way to enter the next stage: ” Mrs Brown and I cannot wait to see the students get immersed in all The Sixth Form has to offer and to continue to excel academically and develop as well-rounded young adults, to realise the future they want.”
This summer’s A Level results give current Sixth Formers something to aim for. They enabled the majority of students to attain their first choice destinations on competitive degree courses and apprenticeships. Walthamstow Hall bucked the national trend by seeing an increase in the percentage of A*-B grades compared to the results pre-COVID.
