Christmas is now officially underway after a glorious Service of Lessons and Carols at Tonbridge School Chapel last night.
Year 13 Music Captain Caitlin sang the first verse of Once in royal David’s city solo as the Senior Choir processed in to the Chapel, lifting our spirits heavenward with her seemingly effortless performance.
The Music Department delighted us with Mr Clements’ arrangements of some familiar tunes: Carol of the Bells, Do you hear what I hear and Gabriel’s Message, which made full dramatic use of the guest brass players in the gallery, aided by student percussionists on glockenspiel, windchimes and snare drum.
Carols were interspersed with Bible readings from a student from each Senior School year group, before the Bishop of Tonbridge the Right Reverend Simon Burton-Jones closed the evening with prayers and the Blessing.
