Following their qualification at the Kent Primary Schools’ Relays in March, Elicia, Chloe, Sophie and Isabelle competed in the South-East Divisional Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Spectrum in Guildford. Our swimmers had qualified in both the Small Schools Freestyle Relay and Medley Relay, a category open to both boys and girls.

Walthamstow Hall made it through the heats to to reach the finals in both events. Against very strong opposition, our swimmers exceeded expectations, finishing second in the Freestyle Relay, in a thrilling race with only two tenths of a second separating first and second place. The Medley Relay proved to be another outstanding performance by the team, once again securing a second-place finish.

Congratulations to all the swimmers who took part, it truly was an exceptional performance and a very exciting day with so much achieved. Also, a special thank you to all the parents who came along to support the team from the spectators’ gallery.

Due to finishing in the top three teams in both relays, Walthamstow Hall have qualified for the English Primary Schools’ National Team Championships, to be held at Ponds Forge International Centre in Sheffield this June.

Well done Team Wally we are so very proud of you!
