Six students have completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, which, as our DofE manager Mr Ramsden pointed out is a remarkable thing to have achieved while still at school.

Certificates have been handed out in Prayers to them and to the dozens of younger students who have earned their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Mr Ramsden praised everyone for their commitment but singled out the Gold cohort for “mastering the art of positivity”. They will make a trip to Buckingham Palace to receive their award formally later in the year.

Along with the expedition, a residential and a skills section, the Gold Award requires participants volunteer at something for at least 12 months.  This cohort took on: helping out at a stables after the owner broke her leg, coaching lacrosse, netball, ballet and helping run a Brownie troupe. Very well done to all.
