In the last year we have been delighted to welcome so many Old Girls back to school to speak to the current generation of Walthamstow Hall students about their careers.
2003 leaver Katie Pankhurst, who oversees J P Morgan’s Campus Recruitment function for its Asset Management arm, came into school to speak to older students about career options in Finance, with a particular focus on helping students with future job applications and interview skills.
Olivia Reid, who only left Walthamstow Hall six years ago, came in to speak to Sixth Formers about her career in the aviation industry. Visiting in the School’s 2018 ‘Engineering Week’, Olivia opened students’ eyes to the many career options available in aviation and aerospace. 2013 leaver, Ayesha Hussain spoke to older students about studying Mathematics at university and 2014 leaver Emily Thomas returned to school to speak about alternatives to university and in particular, the path she has followed to gain a job in PR.
Dr Lucy Ella Rose, who teaches Victorian Literature at the University of Surrey came and spoke as part of our Sixth Form Lecture series, exploring ‘Women’s Suffrage and Education’ in the special centenary year
Today’s students are really inspired by the experiences and achievements of the women they are following and we are lucky to have more old girls scheduled to visit in the coming months.
