Congratulations to Year 13 Mia who was part of the junior women’s curling team who successfully defended their English Junior Curling Championship title at Fenton’s Rink, Tunbridge Wells over the weekend of 26-28 April.
The outcome of the English Junior Curling Championship determines one junior women’s and one junior men’s team to represent England in national and international competitions during the 2019-20 Curling Season, including the Junior World Curling Championships in Finland.The competition used a double knockout game format, where teams have to be beaten twice before being eliminated, to decide the final winning teams.
The defending championship team, of which Mia was a member, were unbeaten in all of their 3 games and received a new trophy presented by the English Curling Association in memory of Christine Black who was a long time advocate of English and Junior Curling. We wish them every success in the forthcoming Curling season.
