Students, parents and teachers at Walthamstow Hall, in Sevenoaks were celebrating a very strong set of A Level and Cambridge Pre-U results* this morning.
Across the 25 subjects taken, 80% of the grades were A* – B and 56% were A* – A.*
One student achieved 3 A*s and 13 students achieved A* – A grades across all of their subjects.
This academic success ensures that Walthamstow Hall 2019 leavers will be heading off to study a wide range of subjects at specialist and prestigious institutions. These include: Veterinary Medicine at Glasgow, Medicine at Barts, Textiles at Chelsea College of Arts (UAL), Fine Art at Canterbury, Philosophy at Exeter, English and Creative Writing at East Anglia, Biochemistry at Imperial, Animation Production at Bournemouth and The Royal College of Music.
Headmistress, Miss Stephanie Ferro, said, ‘I am so proud of these students, not only for the determination and hard work which has earned them their results, but also for being such a fantastic embodiment of what Walthamstow Hall is all about. Throughout their time at the School their individuality, aspiration, respect and integrity have shone through and they have made an overwhelming contribution to our community in so many ways. These examination results are just the tip of the iceberg for what I am sure this amazing group of all-rounders will go on to achieve”.
*These results are a combination of A Level and Pre-U grades, with the Pre-U grades of D1 to M2 converted in their A Level equivalent. Updated 22.09.19 to include results of re-marks.
