Year 11 students and their parents and teachers were celebrating Walthamstow Hall’s highest ever number of top GCSE grades this morning.
An impressive 56% of all grades were a 9 or 8 (the equivalent of an A* in the previous GCSE system).
79% of grades were 9 – 7 and 97% 9 – 5.
Speaking as the girls opened their results envelopes, Headmistress, Miss Stephanie Ferro said,
‘There has been so much to celebrate at Walthamstow Hall this Summer. At the beginning of the holidays we received the report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) following their Summer term inspection at both our Junior and Senior Schools. The ISI found us to be ‘Excellent’ in all areas. In its report summary the ISI stated that, ‘The quality of the pupils academic and other achievements is excellent’. This fact has been more than demonstrated by the fantastic set of results achieved by this wonderful group of talented, hard-working and delightful students. Most importantly, these results act as a brilliant spring board for Sixth Form and beyond.’
